Where a client chooses not to provide us with permission to collect, use, or disclose personal information we may not have sufficient information to provide you with our services. What happens to information entered on New Urban Registry’s website, faxes, or e-mails?
Anyone can visit our website anonymously. In order to apply for an account, you must make arrangements with our Office Manager. Account information will remain confidential except in the case of non-payment of accounts, in which case it will be used for collection purposes, including legal action if necessary.
While using our websites or services you may be asked to provide certain personally identifiable information. The Government of Alberta requires that some of this information must be kept for specified periods of time. Normally, it is evidence that New Urban Registry performed a service request for you. The information is normally entered into a Government of Alberta database. We hold such information in “secure” storage as required.
If a service request is made by internet, email, or fax, we presume that the information may be used, or shared, as required for the purpose of performing the service. If you do not consent to the use of such information for that purpose, let us know at the time of the service request. We will let you know whether we are able to perform your service under such constraints. Generally, we will assume your consent.
It is important to remember that information that you provide to us may be entered into Government of Alberta databases which are open to the public. New Urban Registry cannot make any assurances to you regarding who may conduct a legitimate search for this information. This information may be „personal‟, but it is within the public domain.
From time to time New Urban Registry may perform a survey to obtain feedback of the site visitors, in which we ask you to volunteer demographic information which will only be used for internal market research and product development. It is always your decision, whether you participate, or not.
New Urban Registry may use your e-mail or mailing address to send you information about news, events or new products you might benefit from. Should you no longer wish to receive this type of information please feel free to contact our Office Manager and ask to have your contact information removed from the mailing list.

The personal information you provide to us will be retained by New Urban Registry only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which the information was collected or as required by law. Occasionally New Urban Registry may trace traffic patterns of website users for our own records (or third party suppliers). We may need this to track patterns, or to investigate improprieties. For statistic purposes, we only gather domain names and browser types, but no personal information.
At your request, New Urban Registry will advise you what personal information we have in our possession or control about you, what it is being used for and to whom and why it has been disclosed.
